Cesar and Lois integrates natural and technological networks, probing humanity's relationship to nature by advancing intersections between technological and ecological systems. Comprised of Cesar Baio (UNICAMP, Campinas, Brazil) and Lucy HG Solomon (CSUSM, California), this cross-continental collective questions societal structures that perpetuate global inequities and contribute to environmental devastation, while also seeking to better understand human and nonhuman connections across complex ecosystems. Merging laboratory and technological spaces, the duo constructs interactive installations and conducts meditations that overlap human-based knowledge with information from living systems. Cesar and Lois exhibits in spaces across oceans, with exhibitions traveling from Ravenna to San Francisco, and actions from Berlin to Durban. Co-sponsored by the Upstate Institute
